Indian Bowler’s Terrific Performance in 2023 World Cup in the Match Against Bangladesh Shatters Points Table

The last doubleheader of the tournament. The group stage of the tournament is about to wrap up. Four semifinalists have already decided. India, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand will be featuring in the semifinal matches. On November 11, two matches were scheduled. In the first half, Australia and Bangladesh met at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. England and Pakistan met in the second half at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It was a perfect Saturday for the cricket enthusiasts.

In the first match, Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first. While batting first, Bangladesh had a decent start. Tanzid and Litton, both scored 36 runs. Najmul Shanto scored 45 runs. Towhid Hridoy played a knock of 74 runs in 79 balls. Mahmudullah scored 32 runs. Mehidy hasan scored 29.

Australian bowlers played well. Sean Abbott took 2 wickets in 61 runs. Adam Zampa took 2 wickets in 32 runs. Marcus Stoinis 1 wicket in 45 runs. Other Aussie bowlers remained wicketless in the match. They stopped Bangladesh in 306 runs in 50 overs. 

Australian batters were extremely well, especially Mitchell Marsh. Travis Head got out by scoring 10 runs. David Warner scored another half-century. Mitchell Marsh remained unbeaten on 177 runs in 132 balls. Steve Smith remained not out on 63 runs. Bangladeshi bowlers couldn’t dominate them. Taskin Ahmed took 1 wicket and Mustafizur Rahim took another wicket. Other Bangladeshi bowlers didn’t get any wickets. Australia won the match by 8 wickets. 

In the second innings, England won the toss and decided to bat first. England started well. Dawid Malan scored 31 runs in 39 balls. Jonny Bairstow scored 59 runs in 61 balls. Joe Root and Ben Stokes played well. Root scored 60 runs in 72 balls. Ben Stokes played a knock of 84 runs and 76 balls. Harry Brook scored 30 runs in 17 balls. They put on a target of 338 runs in front of Pakistan. 

Pakistani bowlers performed well. Haris Rauf took 3 wickets in 64 runs. Shaheen Afridi took 2 wickets in 72 runs. Mohammad Wasim Jr took 2 wickets in 74 runs. Iftikhar Ahmed took 1 wicket in 38 runs. That was an exceptional performance by them. 

In the second innings, Pakistan didn’t have a desired start. Abdullah Shafique got out on 0. Babar Azam scored 38 runs in 45 balls. Mohammad Rizwan scored 36 runs in 51 balls. Agha Salman played a knock of 51 runs in 45 balls.

England’s batters were exceptional. They ended the tournament on high. David Willy picked up 3 wickets in 56 runs. Adil Rashid took 2 wickets in 55 runs. Gus Atkinson took 2 wickets in 45 runs. Moeen Ali took 2 wickets in 60 runs. Chris Woakes ended up taking 1 wicket in 27 runs. They won the match by 93 runs. 

Adam Zampa Retains the First Spot:

It was a double header in the World Cup. In the first match, Australia faced Bangladesh. In that match, Adam Zampa shined again. He showed his excellence in the World Cup. Against Bangladesh, Zampa took 2 wickets in 32 runs. His first wicket of the match was Litton Das. he picked Litton on 36 runs. As his second wicket, he took Mushfiqur Rahim’s wicket when he was in 21 runs. With this performance, they became the top wicket-takers in the World Cup with 22 wickets.

Shaheen Afridi Comes Up:

Shaheen is a talented bowler from Pakistan. In their last match in the World Cup, they met England. Against the English lineup, Shaheen took 2 wickets in 72 runs. He took the big wicket of Joe Root when he was on 60 runs. He picked another big wicket. He bowled Ben Stokes in 84 runs. Apart from that, he played exceptionally well against England. He climbs up to the 4th position of the highest wicket-takers list with 18 wickets.

Haris Rauf Improved His Position:

Haris Rauf is a talented bowler from Pakistan. Against England, he shined again. He took three crucial wickets in 64 runs. In the beginning, he picked the wicket of Jonny Bairstow on 59 runs. Then he picked up Harry Brook on 30 runs. Lastly, he took the wicket of Moeen Ali in 8 runs. He climbs up to the eighth position of the list with 16 wickets.
