Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka smashed a power hitting century of 108 runs off 105 deliveries followed by Pathum Nissanka and Sadeera Samarawickrama who scored 40 runs each for the team marking a significant role. The highest wicket taker was Dilshan Madushanka who picked up 3 wickets conceding 69 runs while Angelo Mathews knocked out two Bangladesh’s batsmen conceding only 35 runs. It was a day of rage for Mathews as after Sadeera’s wicket, Angelo was dismissed before receiving the ball as he didn’t come out to bat within 3-minutes which challenged the rule book.
In reply, Bangladeshi batsman Najmul Hassn Shanto came close to hitting a century but eventually he got dismissed after smashing 90 runs off 101 balls. Next came skipper Shakib Al Hasan who scored 65-ball-82 for the team. Pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib picked up 3 wickets whilst conceding 80 runs in the 10 overs he bowled.

After today’s knock, Sadeera Samarawickrama achieved the 7th position after having played a 41-run knock with a total of 372 runs.
